Apprenticeships The Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship Program is a combination of field training and classroom instruction over a five-year span. Classroom instruction is conducted weekly from September through May and attendance is mandatory. As an apprentice your average workweek will be a 40-hour week. New apprentices begin earning 50% of journeymen pay. Their pay increases annually until their 5th year in which they earn 85% of the journeyman rate. The Joint Apprenticeship Committee ensures that you, as an apprentice, receive the best training possible in the Sprinkler Fitting Industry. After your 5-year apprenticeship program, you may have experienced training on construction of airports, high-rise buildings, hospitals, schools, even power plants. As an apprentice there is no tuition cost to you. The sprinkler fitting industry pays all costs. Remember our apprenticeship program is an earn-while-you-learn program; you receive wages, and benefits while learning your trade.
